Redding Rancheria Community Fund Awards $110,000 to Regional Organizations

The Redding Rancheria Community Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of the North State, is pleased to announce grants totaling $110,000 to a combined thirty-three organizations in Trinity and Shasta County as the result of their Fall 2020 cycle of awards. “Redding Rancheria’s longtime support of North State nonprofits is critical to our communities. For many years – and especially in this difficult year – we are so grateful for their generosity,” said Megan Conn, Program Officer at Community Foundation of the North State.

Tracy Edwards, Chief Executive Officer at the Redding Rancheria says, “We are proud to play our part in the community by distributing grants in the Spring and Fall each year. Decision-making is always difficult as needs far outweigh our ability to fully fund each request.” With the recent major impacts from COVID-19 and wildfires in the region, the Rancheria is honored to offer support for projects that address:

  • Native Americans – with diverse programs including amplifying native voices on the radio to helping increase school attendance among high schoolers
  • Youth – from playroom supplies for child victims of abuse to new school curriculum materials, coats and other warm gear for winter, and the many projects supporting our region’s youngest community members
  • Rural populations – particularly those facing challenges due to wildfire, through disaster assistance and gear for first responders

“We are dedicated to supporting worthy causes in our region and know there will be additional opportunities in the future,” said Edwards. “Nonprofit organizations can look to apply in our next grant cycle in the Spring of 2021.” Since the Redding Rancheria Community Fund was established at the Community Foundation, over $3.5 million in grants have been awarded.
