Local Arts Organizations Recipients of Community Arts Grants

The Community Foundation of the North State’s Community Arts Endowment Fund has awarded grants to four local North State arts organizations. This fund grants to nonprofits, public agencies, and individual artists for the creation and presentation of “new artistic works.” Fields supported by these grants may include but are not limited to dance, theater, music, writing, sculpture, painting, photography, film, and graphic design. Awards were granted to the following organizations:

Autie Carlisle
Support Shasta Stories documentary video series featuring individuals in Siskiyou County
$2,500
City of Redding
Support heritage mural project at Martin Luther Kind Jr. Center
$2,500
KIXE-TV
Support local video series Eponymous featuring origin of place names in region
$2,500
Siskiyou County Arts Council
Support box artist fees as part of Art DROP art supply share stations
$2,500

“This year’s grants focus on bringing people together by sharing the stories of those who are traditionally unheard, whether they are from remote rural regions or communities of color,” said Megan Conn, Program Officer for the Community Foundation. “These projects remind us of what we have in common, and we are excited to be a part of this storytelling culture in the North State.”
