The McConnell Fund of the Community Foundation of the North State was established in 2001. The McConnell Foundation’s directors chose the Community Foundation as a funding partner because of its connection and widespread involvement in the communities they serve. This fund is another way The McConnell Foundation furthers its mission of helping to build better communities through philanthropy.
The McConnell Fund accepts grant requests up to $50,000 from eligible organizations in Shasta, Siskiyou, and Tehama counties and up to $30,000 in Trinity and Modoc counties.
The Fund awards grants primarily for the purchase of equipment or building-related projects in the following areas: Arts & Culture, Recreation, Environment, Community Vitality, Social Services, Health care, Children, Youth & Education.
Grants are not awarded for admin, operating, or program expenses (including personnel costs and items consumable in nature), planning costs, budget deficits, endowment funds, annual fund drives, essential government services, individuals, sectarian religious purposes, building/land purchases, and/or permanent improvements to buildings or land not owned by the applicant organization.
