Siskiyou Arts Museum Building Fund
The Siskiyou Arts Museum (SAM) Building Fund supports the purchase and maintenance of the 1925 historic building that has been the home of the museum since it opened in 2013. As SAM nears its 10th anniversary, purchasing its home will help this important cultural institution to serve the region for decades to come.
The Museum enriches the lives of artists, residents and visitors to Siskiyou County through exhibition, interpretation and sale of the visual, literary and performing arts by presenting events and programs that educate, strengthen, serve and sustain our community. The museum is located in downtown, historic Dunsmuir just off Interstate 5 and within walking distance of California’s northernmost Amtrak train station. SAM is a 501(c)(3) organization with a vibrant, supportive community of artists, volunteers, patrons, and donors.
Purchasing our building will help secure and expand the Museum’s future. Once the building has been purchased, SAM the museum will qualify for non-profit grants to maintain and upgrade the building and expand its offerings. Initial projects include refurbishing the roof, preparing outside walls for art murals, installing an outdoor art event courtyard, and remodeling the downstairs art studios and maker space.
