Mildred Lucille Driscoll Endowment

Mildred Lucille Driscoll

This fund was established in 2004 to honor the memory of Millie Driscoll. Millie had a wonderful zest for life! She loved helping all those in need and supported many organizations. This endowment annually supports Haven Humane Society, the Good News Rescue Mission, Shasta County Women’s Refuge and Northern California Shriner’s Hospital in Sacramento. Through this endowment, her legacy of love will live on.

Mildred Lucille Fulton, or “Millie” was born January 30, 1927 in the tiny San Joaquin Valley farming community of Buttonwillow. The oldest child of three in her family, she is fondly remembered as a leader. Wherever she went in life, Millie always held her family and friends as her highest priorities. Millie was married in 1948 to Ralph Driscoll. They lived in many places, but during a motor home journey they discovered beautiful Redding and established their new home. Millie loved Redding for its historical background, its hot, dry climate, and wonderful seasons. Next to her family and friends, Millie had a great love for animals. Her black lab, Jenny, was a constant companion in her later years. Her friends remark that, above all else, she was dedicated to people and animals. “She had a wonderful sense of humor,” and would “help anybody in need.” Ralph preceded Millie in death and upon Millie’s passing in 2003 she left a portion of her estate to a dear friend. This friend established the Mildred Lucille Driscoll Endowment to pay tribute to Millie, remarking that she “had never met a more graceful, dignified lady.”
