Community Foundation Launches Tehama County Fund

The Community Foundation of the North State is commemorating its 25th anniversary with the introduction of the Tehama County Fund. Partnering with local donors, this fund seeks to address urgent needs specific to Tehama County. The Foundation is distributing an initial $25,000 to area nonprofits throughout the year.

“We have learned a lot about the passions and promise of Tehama County,” said Kerry Caranci, Foundation CEO. “So much good has come about thanks to the deep commitment of community members and we will continue to listen and support Tehama organizations through this fund.”

Since 2000, the Community Foundation has been working to impact the region through collective philanthropy. The Foundation started with $300,000 and seven funds and now stewards over 180 funds and holds $38 million in charitable assets. Combined with more than $64 million in grants and scholarships that have been distributed in the North State, the Foundation has generated over $100 million in impact over the last two and a half decades.

The Foundation’s impact includes over $4 million in grants for Tehama County nonprofits and $250,000 in scholarships to Tehama County students. Grantee organizations include, but are not limited to:
