Shasta Regional Community Foundation announces the second round of COVID-19 Relief Fund grants to organizations supporting residents with essential needs.
The immediate needs identified for this round of $47,600 in grants include emergency food purchases, grocery store gift cards, support for production of personal protective equipment, infant and childcare supplies, and arranging for shelter and meals for those experiencing domestic violence or other unique circumstances.
Thanks to the generosity from community members and business in our region, the Community Foundation has quickly disbursed available funds collected to over 17 nonprofit service providers across Shasta, Siskiyou and Tehama counties. Our most recent partners addressing the immediate needs of our region’s vulnerable residents impacted by the Coronavirus include Northern Valley Catholic Social Service, Inc., One Safe Place, Siskiyou Domestic Violence & Crisis Center, Empower Tehama, Shingletown Medical Center, Redding Fashion Alliance, CareNet Pregnancy Center and Rural Klamath Connects. The total relief fund grants equate to $152,100 since the inception of the fund.
“We continue to explore the most effective means to allocate donations to assist our North State neighbors currently facing hardships, food insecurity and providing for our medical healthcare workers.” said Kerry Caranci, Community Foundation CEO. “Our relationships with dedicated nonprofit service providers allow us to respond quickly in this unique time of need presented by the Coronavirus.”
