Shasta County Capitol Display Fund

There are 58 artistic representations of each county that over a million tourists see as they enter our state Capitol in Sacramento every year.

Shasta County’s Capitol Display has not been updated in 26 years. The Redding Record Searchlight has called it a “Stuck-in-the-80s Relic from a Mining Town Past”.  Click HERE to view our project plans.

With your support to update the display, we will refresh our county’s image to enhance tourism, economic development, and civic pride. Our goal is not only to enhance our look, but simply to have the most popular and awe-inspiring display in the Capitol. For that reason, we went to the Capitol, studied the guests, figured out which displays were most popular and why, and picked the best artists in the country to build exactly what the people want.

To accomplish this, we need your help.

Citizens who support the project with $250 or more will have their names listed on the display wall for guests to see for years to come. Businesses who support the project with $500 or more will be recognized in a similar fashion. In addition to the foregoing, supporters who contribute $1,000 will receive exclusive updates about the project, including recognition at the unveiling at the Capitol.

The display cannot be updated without YOUR support. From our studies, it takes only 8.03 seconds to capture the hearts and minds of Capitol guests. With a top-notch updated display, our county’s will do precisely that.
